The Junior QB comes into 2009 with an overall record of 13-2 under head coach Frank Beamer and looks to have another impressive year and possibly lay claim to several school records;

• 556 yards behind Bob Schweickert in career rushing yards by a QB(35 behind Michael Vick)
• 9 touchdowns behind Schweickert in career rushing TD's by a QB(3 behind Vick)
• 2 behind Schweickert in career 100-yard rushing games by a QB(tied with Vick)
• Also boasts a 400 lb front squat, a QB record

Taylor has played in 23 games in his career at VT while starting 15 of them, 10 of those in 2008. Taylor was also voted the MVP of the 2008 ACC Championship which helped vault VT into the Orange Bowl against Cincinnati.
